There, he comes across a young Polish woman named Gerda Weissman. Her unimaginable physical decay and frailty reveal the consequences of her years spent in arguably the worst place the war has to offer… a German concentration camp. Little do these two unsuspecting souls know that this chance encounter in the middle of war-torn Europe will end up creating an over 50-year marriage, two children, eight grandchildren, an Academy Award, a human rights foundation, and one of the most unlikely, and moving love stories of all time.

Fast asleep in the bedroom of their rural Virginia home, Richard and Mildred Loving are like any young newlywed couple in love who have a plan to spend the rest of their lives together. Unfortunately, local law enforcement has other ideas for the Lovings... an arrest and a trip to jail. The reasoning for their arrest is simple it’s 1958, they're in the Jim Crow South, Richard is white and Mildred is black. Feeling that their arrest is not only immoral but also illegal the Lovings decide to fight. A fight that begins when Mildred sits down to write a simple letter and ends with the couple’s appeal for social justice in front of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
